To my #AVFoodie friends headed to #ISE2023, you are in for a treat! While there are some terrific lunch spots in the Fira, there are some phenomenal places to tempt your palate throughout Barcelona. I truly enjoyed both the laid-back tapas meals with colleagues ( @Rodrigo Casassus Coke, CTS , @Jonathan Seller , @Diana Quintero, @Joseph Valerio, what was the name of that quaint spot near the hotel?) as well as the fine dining events such as one that really stood out - Restaurant Pau Claris 190 - a find by @Peter Hansen where our small group enjoyed an intimate table and wonderful wine selection, in the loft.

What are some of your local favorites for coffee, tapas and cocktails? And where would you recommend that can accommodate larger parties for dinner after the show? Share in the comments below!

@Christian Orcin, as a Barcelona native, we'd love to hear your recommendations (and your Top 5 for '23)!

Hello @Lisa Matthews, CTS you made went into the map to finally find the name. I could not remember!!! "Restaurante La tabla" for those who want to stay around and close the hotel or convention center.

We had the opportunity to taste excellent restaurants, but one memorable was "La Flauta: it was a recommended place by a chef friend. A must-try. I am excited to read all the recommendations here!

I invite to @Franciele Mesadri, @Gina Soraya Gonzalez Lezama, @Ojeny Magdy @Carla Charlton to share their recommendations!

Hi @Lisa Matthews, CTS Hi @Diana Quintero

We went to ¨Negro-Rojo¨ and I totally recommend it. It has two distinct spaces with different personalities: on the Top is Negro, where international cuisine is served in a modern setting, and below is Rojo, a lively environment serving Japanese food with an open kitchen and shared tables.

It is quite popular with locals and tourists and seems to be a trendy place to visit for a good meal and a must-visit in the city.

Restaurante La Tabla had not only beautiful fresh food, it was also very inexpensive. Great recommendation.

Hi @Lisa Matthews, CTS

Here are a couple of recommendations in Barcelona from the gastronomy section of the newspaper El País, in its annual compilation of the best restaurants in Spain.

Alapar

Jaume Marambio and Vicky Maccarone define their place as a neighborhood bodega in the Japanese or Mediterranean izakaya style, but Mikel points out "that the delicacies they serve are more reminiscent of haute cuisine than the menu of the bar downstairs." The expert foodie assures that his nigiris and montaditos are a spectacle, the same as the lemon fish with hoisin sauce, the portobello mushrooms with miso black pepper sauce, or the squid in its ink stuffed with jowl, "with an additional orgasmic pickle sauce." "A place where you enjoy non-stop from the moment you sit down until you leave," sums up López Iturriaga, editor of the El Comidista section of the newspaper El País.

Dalt de tot

Another of El Comidista's 2022 favorites is Dalt de tot: "They have a very rich and juicy tortilla de patatas (potato omelet), which has a more daring version with aioli and chipotle on top. They also offer other classics such as fried Padrón peppers, croquetitas, bombas or botifarra sausage skewers". The editor says: "Honestly, I think this is where I have enjoyed the most this year in the city in terms of expectations versus reality."

And on the other hand, I suggest enjoying a drink at the cocktail bar Dr. Stravisnky and letting yourself be guided by their creative bartenders.
