What Probably Inspired me at ISE 2026?
Earlier this year, around February, I decided to experiment. I wanted to create a training course on channel management for Udemy and was intrigued by the promise of AI video. I turned to Synthesia, feeding it my script and cloning my own voice. The result was impressive, certainly faster and cheaper than any traditional video production.
But it wasn't perfect. The final product wasn't as realistic as I would have liked. The avatar's body language felt programmed, lacking natural, spontaneous gestures. I felt that my French-American-Singaporean accent would not be ideal for students, so I replaced it by a more generic, standardized AI voice with an American accent. It lost its unique character though.
Here is an example of what it looks and sounds like: https://www.udemy.com/course/the-art-of-channel-management-basic/?instructorPreviewMode=guest&couponCode=25BBPMXINACTIVE
So later in April, I recorded and generated my own AI voice, yet I sounded Canadian this time, at least according to NEXXT's Chief Transformation Officer, Byron Tarry.
That was then...Now, with the launch of Synthesia 3.0, the game has completely changed. The new capabilities are truly revolutionizing the world of AI-generated video for learning, training, and communication, addressing the very issues that once held it back.
Synthesia 3.0 isn't just about incremental improvements. It focuses on three core pillars that directly address past limitations: realism, ease of use, and integration.
Hyper-Realistic Avatars & Expressive Voices: The biggest visual leap is the sheer quality of the AI avatars. They now exhibit subtle human nuances, including a full emotional range conveyed through facial expressions and natural hand gestures. Crucially, the voice cloning technology is now so sophisticated that it captures the unique cadence and intonation of a speaker, preserving the authenticity of accents like mine. This is a must try.
The Collaborative "Video Document" Studio: The creation process has been completely overhauled. The new interface feels more like a collaborative Google Doc than a complex video editor. Teams can work on projects simultaneously, and updating a video is as simple as editing a line of text.
Deep Integration & API Access: Synthesia 3.0 is designed to be the video engine for your entire technology stack. With a robust API and direct connectors for Learning Management Systems (LMS) and CRMs, the potential for automated, personalized video creation is now a reality.
These new features aren't just cool tech; they are solutions to real-world business challenges across the organization.
Learning & Development (L&D): The days of boring compliance modules are over. L&D teams can now create engaging onboarding, rapid skill-up training, and interactive role-playing scenarios in multiple languages, all updated in minutes, not weeks.
Corporate Communications: Deliver consistent, scalable messaging from leadership. A CEO’s announcement can be delivered with authentic tone and localized for every global office, ensuring clarity and impact that a simple email could never achieve.
Marketing & Sales: Unlock personalization at an unprecedented scale. Imagine automated outreach videos that greet each prospect by name or product demos that are instantly available in 50+ languages.
Customer Support: Reduce support tickets and improve customer satisfaction by transforming your text-based knowledge base into a library of clear, easy-to-follow video tutorials and troubleshooting guides.
While these changes are transforming internal departments, the impact is even more profound when we look at specific industries that rely on cutting-edge communication. A prime example is the Professional AV industry, where content has long been the missing piece of the puzzle.
Traditionally, the Pro-AV industry has focused on hardware and integration. The value proposition is shifting. The most sophisticated video wall or meeting room system is only as good as the content that runs on it. Synthesia 3.0 directly addresses this content bottleneck.
AV integrators can install stunning displays, but clients often struggle to produce fresh content. Synthesia changes this dynamic entirely.
State-of-the-art boardrooms and training centers often go underutilized. Synthesia maximizes the ROI on these hardware investments.
The demand for video content for live events is immense. Synthesia streamlines this tight and expensive process.
Generate pre-event hype videos, speaker introductions, and session summaries in a fraction of the time.
For virtual events, a "digital emcee" can provide perfectly consistent introductions for every session.
Perhaps the most significant implication is the opportunity for AV professionals to evolve their business models beyond hardware.
AV-as-a-Service (AVaaS): Integrators can now bundle content creation services with their installations. A client doesn't just get a video wall; they get a video wall with a subscription for fresh, AI-generated content every month.
Strategic Consultancy: AV professionals can become strategic partners, advising clients not just on hardware, but on their entire digital communication strategy, from content creation in Synthesia to distribution on the AV network.
In conclusion, Synthesia 3.0 is more than an impressive new tool. It is a foundational technology that democratizes professional video creation. It empowers individual departments to communicate more effectively and, more importantly, it provides industries like Professional AV with the key to unlocking the full potential of their technology.

Love this insight here! Our tech teams have been testing Synthesia for awhile now too.
As a tech person, I love how this AI has grown in recent months. As a content contributor, I'm a bit weary as video and voice-over has been a passion of mine for years now
