AVI’s Recap of InfoComm 2024: Trends, Products and More

As the Pro AV industry's biggest trade show event in North America, we always look forward to InfoComm. Last month in Vegas did not disappoint. The show was packed with new products and services, hands-on experiences, education and training, networking opportunities, and more.

Here's our short recap of some of the big trends we noticed, along with a few product products that caught our attention, and a summary of what attendees were seeking in our booth on the show floor.

Trends We Noticed

There was no shortage of products and solutions introduced at InfoComm 2024, but several broader trends also emerged.

  • Artificial intelligence (AI): It's no surprise that AI is a big trend as manufacturers and service providers rush to take advantage of emerging capabilities. InfoComm 2024 was packed with AI-powered video conferencing and collaboration tools,
content creation and delivery, digital signage and displays, and more. We’re already helping customers find the best use cases for these innovations and will continue to watch AI closely.
  • Experiences: It was clear that manufacturers are placing less emphasis on introducing products and more emphasis on delivering an experience. The kickoff event at Sphere set the tone for the week and more exhibitor booths than ever featured immersive displays, interactive elements, data visualizations, experiential vignettes, and more.
  • Partnerships & collaboration: A key trend was vendors partnering up. In the past, a vendor's booth would focus exclusively on its own brand, products, or services. Today, end-users want comprehensive solutions rather than individual products. Vendors are adapting by openly developing and advertising collaborations with other companies. Instead of attempting to provide an entire solution themselves, they’re concentrating on their core components and leveraging partnerships with other vendors to deliver a complete solution.

“As an integrator, these partnerships are a refreshing shift in our industry," said Eric Jingst, Enterprise Architect, at AVI Systems. "It allows us to work more effectively with our customers, leveraging both our strong relationships with vendor partners and the new relationships those partners are forming with each other. Now, we can craft comprehensive solutions that maximize the desired outcomes and create true human impact.” --

Products That Got Our Attention

We could geek out for several paragraphs about the best-in-show product introductions, but here are a few that struck us from a highly practical standpoint.

  • Crestron debuted its new Audio-over-IP Saros® Speaker. This flexible, scalable audio solution allows users to power, configure, update, monitor, and control these speakers remotely, all while extending the reach of their audio. The result is incredible audio for large conference rooms and classrooms.  And their Crestron 1 Beyond Cameras won an InfoComm Best of Show award.
  • Logitech won a Rave award in the UCC category for its Sight with AI tabletop conference room camera. This modestly priced solution automatically and intelligently frames multiple meeting participants to provide the best view for remote attendees. And it’s compatible with all the most popular meeting platforms.
  • Sony showcased a broad range of solutions for the modern workplace, including displays, signage, and collaboration tools. In particular, their large-scale Crystal LED displays keep getting bigger, better, and brighter – not to mention their award-winning Sony BZ53L 98-inch display in their BRAVIA lineup. And they blew our minds with their spatial reality displays that “provide highly realistic, three-dimensional content without special glasses or VR headsets.”

People We Connected With

While we attend InfoComm to spot trends and experience new products, the real stars of the show are the attendees. From An Evening at Sphere (which we sponsored) to InfoComm Esports Live 2.0 (which we presented) to our booth experience, we connected with hundreds of new people and enjoyed sharing our passion for all things AV.

Even after attending this show for years, we’re always amazed at the breadth of industries Pro AV serves and the ways in which our solutions create human impact. For example, we spoke with.

  • A government agency wanting the latest in technologies to create an in-house broadcast studio
  • A mid-sized company looking for a flexible managed services program for its meeting rooms
  • A global Fortune 500 organization needing AV program management and a monitoring platform (AVI Vision) to maintain its entire AV estate

AVI in Action at InfoComm: Experiences for the Modern Workplace

AVI took a unique approach to InfoComm 2024 and centered our booth experience around four modern workplace vignettes. Each of the vignettes focused on trending solutions that remove friction between home and office and make it easy to collaborate from anywhere.
