Are you a passionate Audio Video (AV) Engineer with strong leadership and management experience who is ready to make a difference in higher education? The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is seeking an expert AV Engineer to lead the management, design, development, and maintenance of the AV systems across campus. This role includes working on innovative projects, implementing the latest AV technology, and collaborating with various teams to enhance the learning and working experience for our students, faculty, and staff.
In this exciting and fast-paced role, you’ll manage AV projects from conception to implementation, provide expert training and support to other IT Support teams, as well as faculty and staff, and ensure our AV infrastructure is cutting edge. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining AV equipment, managing inventory, and working with vendors to bring high-quality AV solutions to our campus. This position requires someone to have expert knowledge in AV technology, knowledge of program/project management planning and practices, IT equipment and troubleshooting, and fiscal management. Knowledge of theories and practices of instructional technology and the ability to demonstrate program multimedia control systems and design complex integrated AV/IT systems is required.
To thrive in this role a successful candidate must be able to demonstrate problem-solving skills to help coach and lead the Field Services team to support the AV componentry around campus. The day-to-day work is more about the planning and design of the technology in the classrooms, as well as managing the AV projects, whether that is done by a third-party implementor or our own Field Services Team. The successful candidate must also demonstrate strong communication skills to ensure excellent customer service to our various units, including, deans, directors, and faculty members.
