Damoda V4 – The Show Drone That Makes Things Easy
Drone shows are one of the newest fields in professional video technology – and certainly one of the most exciting. The fascination they spark remains as strong as ever, and the technical development in the show-drone sector continues to move rapidly.
Shows are becoming larger, and the way they are planned and executed is constantly evolving. One question, however, has been present since the very beginning: how can planning, set-up and execution be made even more efficient and straightforward?
This is precisely the question Damoda addresses with its V4 show drone. The system takes a holistic approach, operating on the principle of delivering everything from a single, integrated concept. But what does that actually mean in practice? And which factors allow the V4 to embody efficiency so convincingly?
First, the essentials: the V4 weighs 565 g and is powered by an integrated lithium-ion battery, enabling flight times of up to 15 minutes. Charging is wireless, with a full cycle taking between 40 and 60 minutes.
A closer look at the V4 tray
Its charging system is also the key to its efficiency: the tray. Each tray holds six drones in their pods, where they charge automatically. A larger master battery is inserted into the tray to supply power to all units. This removes the need to charge individual batteries or handle drones one by one – as soon as a drone is seated in the tray, it begins charging.
The trays also function as transport units. They are stackable and can be combined into compact, easy-to-move clusters, allowing large numbers of drones to be transported at once. For set-up, the individual trays are simply unstacked and positioned side by side, enabling the fleet to be deployed in a matter of moments.
The most striking advantage of the V4 trays becomes apparent during the show itself: the drones take off directly from the trays to enter formation. After the show, each V4 returns to its pod, removing the need for laborious individual placement or collection. Once the show has concluded, the trays are stacked again and transported away.
Reliable, efficient, fast
Functionally, the V4 opens up numerous possibilities. All six drones can be flown simultaneously, or they can be deployed one after another to create smaller shapes, with each drone returning after its flight time so the next can continue seamlessly. This makes longer shows possible – especially considering that each tray’s master battery holds enough energy to fully charge all six drones up to three times.
Another major advantage is the significantly reduced personnel requirement. With no need for individual battery changes or extensive manual handling, even large formations can be planned, set up and operated with comparatively little manpower. The same applies to the end of a show: trays are simply stacked, stored and transported.
The V4 is therefore a show drone that impresses not only in the air but also on the ground. It is well thought out, efficient, easily scalable and designed for modern workflows.
Those are a lot of good points for us. That’s why we are adding a total of 850 V4 drones to our fleet – ensuring we remain ready for unforgettable shows, large-scale projects and new creative heights.
