The world of LED, projectors, image processing and drone shows is a fast-moving one. Sometimes so fast that it helps to pause for a moment and reflect on what actually happened over the past year. And what better time for that than the end of December?

Of course, no single perspective can cover everything. That’s why we asked our in-house experts: Product managers and business professionals of LANG shared their views on the products, trends and topics that shaped 2025.

One thing quickly became clear: our new LED products made a statement – not only in terms of technology, but also through collaboration and creative ambition.

With AURA, we as LANG have taken the next technological step in the rental sector. Starting with the LED panels using MIP technology and extending to the complete solution with AURA Flex, cube, stacking and hanging options, it is not just about technology, but about creative freedom. The fact that elements such as case solutions were also developed together with partners like INCASE makes the overall package particularly well rounded.
— Svenja Mevissen, Director LED & Displays

2025 showed that the LED rental market in the sub-2-millimetre segment continues to gain importance. Demand is increasingly shifting towards finer pixel pitches and more flexible deployment options. Our response to this development this year: the new AURA LED cabinet.
— Manuel Müller, Director Rental

AURA was one of our highlights – LIAM was another, this time in the field of LED transparency.

2025 once again demonstrated how strong the fascination with transparent LED remains. With LIAM, we introduced a product that attracted considerable interest in terms of both scalability and transparency. It is clear that this topic will continue to accompany us for quite some time.
— Alexander Prill, Director Business Development and Cooperations

LIAM was something truly special for me this year. Developing a completely new, end-to-end solution together with partners such as Exact Solutions over the summer was intense, challenging and extremely inspiring. What we achieved as a team and as a group is exceptional – precisely because it grew out of genuine collaboration.
— Svenja Mevissen

But LED and displays had even more to offer in 2025 – including some particularly striking highlights.

When it comes to QD-OLED, I was particularly impressed by the XMP270 from FSI: a display technology without residual light, with Delta E values well below 1, stable image reproduction even from extreme viewing angles and a colour gamut far beyond DCI-P3. Even static images displayed for days pose no issues, which for me clearly shows that a truly everyday-ready reference class has finally arrived on the market.
— Hubertus Beckmann, Technical Director

And innovation doesn’t always have to come in large formats. Sometimes, smaller devices can make a big impression as well.

In 2025, Garmin launched the first smartwatch with microLED display technology. Granted, 454 × 454 pixels on a quarter-inch display are only the beginning, but 4,500 nits are already impressive. Made possible by AUO from Taiwan. Next stop: full-colour MicroLED AR glasses!
— Hubertus Beckmann

For many in the AV industry, there was a clear number one in the “most improved” category this year.

Drone shows had their breakthrough in 2024, and this year they clearly emerged as winners. Continuous development and investment across the market have paid off, establishing drone shows as an exciting and serious factor within the AV industry. I stand by my statement: drone shows are digital signage. And in this field, it’s getting more and more important.
— Tobias Lang, CEO

The field of drone shows continued to grow in 2025. We are seeing increasing professionalisation of the market and broader demand, both nationally and internationally. Establishing a dedicated drone department was a logical step to keep pace with this momentum.
— Alexander Prill

Looking at the market environment as a whole, 2025 was not without its challenges – making it all the more important to think globally and remain flexible.

In 2025, local presence in international markets proved more important than ever. At the same time, a challenging global trade environment – including issues such as import tariffs – increased complexity and underlined the need for flexible structures in international business.
— Pablo Ledda, Director International Sales

2025 showed how important it is to open up new markets. With LANG ME in Dubai, we are now able to access one of the most exciting markets worldwide far more effectively. And with LANG NL, we gained an experienced team this year that is very well positioned in a strong market.
— Alexander Prill

We clearly felt the pressure of the current economic situation. Nevertheless, we stayed the course, continued to invest and consistently drove development forward.
— Tobias Lang
