Rob has worked in high tech for four decades, establishing himself as a veritable veteran of the moving image. He has spent time in engineering, sales and marketing, in positions spanning the content-creation, distribution, and transmission industries and more recently AV. Previously, he was an active member of the International Association of Broadcast Manufacturers, serving on its technical sub-committee as well as presenting technical sessions for the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers in London (including 'resettlement' courses for those leaving the UK military) , the Control Room Summit and AV Broadcast Summit  - both in Europe and for Infocomm University in Dubai and the US. His education includes a CTS. He also has degrees in Information and Communication Technologies (BSc) and Electrical and Electronic Engineering (BSc). Additionally, he complemented this with a Chartered Institute of Marketing post-graduate diploma.   He has been with Matrox Video for 20 years over which time has been associated with many projects, large and small – national and international. His current remit is the furtherance of strategic partnerships - both technological and organizational. He is particularly involved with the new IPMX open standard - the AV focussed extension to ST2110. Rob is held in high regard internationally for his technology training sessions and was recognised by Infocomm in 2016 as a ‘distinguished talent’ in the industry.

Sound engineer with extensive commercial experience and a global perspective gained through work in different Latin American countries. Understanding of customer requirements and needs in various market segments, both in the public and private sectors. Strong communication skills, capable of executing and leading projects, adaptable to diverse work environments, and skilled in team-based strategy development. Specialist in the formulation and execution of projects involving electroacoustic systems, audiovisual integration, and acoustic consulting, whether for fixed installations such as auditoriums, conference rooms, large venues, classrooms, and recording studios, as well as for live sound. Proficient in software and hardware for audio pre-production and post-production.

I have been involved with Audio Visual pretty much since the start of my work experience in 2008. My first real job was with an after school program as a Digital Media tutor, at this time I was also in school pursuing a Bachelor's in Music that got me into the Audio Engineering side of things. When our after school program lost funding in 2014, I moved more into the traditional Audio Visual setting in the live event/conference setting. A bulk of my AV experience comes from the live event side of things from casinos, hotels, convention centers, and concert venues. It was until 2020 that I shifted into the Higher Ed Audio Visual support setting with my current job with Central New Mexico Community College and have been learning more about the networking and integration/install side of AV.  This year I was awarded with the HETMA Prism Scholarship that has given me access to the Elite level membership with AVIXA as well as an opportunity to obtain my CTS certification. With this opportunity my current goals are obtaining my CTS and diving deep into all that AVIXA has to offer and continuing my education in Digital Media/Graphic Design. My personal interests/hobbies include music, digital media, art and listening to military veteran podcasts regarding leadership and business principles.
