Hi there! My name is Iván Alegría, I'm a young Project Manager for AV in Chile. Here in South America, studying AV as a career in a traditional sense doesn't exist. People are just becoming aware of its existence this couple of years because of the pandemic and the boom in the video communications via software like zoom or teams, etc. So I think we have a beautiful opportunity to impact the lives of young people that are only learning about recording studios, sound reinforcement, TV sets, broadcast and radio stations, all in a rigid and poorly integrated fashion, by teaching them about this vast world full of marvellous things where almost anything can happen or can be made. There's a space in universities or technical institutions where careers like sound engineering, sound technician, audiovisual technician and so forth are taught to make a difference in their education. When I was 18 years old and was studying to become a sound technician I would have loved to have someone come and showed me that there was more of it, and we should be that influence to the younger generations of av pros.
