When Xchange Sparks Real Conversations
One of the things I value most about AVIXA Xchange is how it allows us to turn quick online interactions into real professional connections. Last week, I reached out to @Craig Park and invited him for a simple virtual coffee chat. What started as an informal catch-up quickly became one of the most valuable conversations I’ve had this year.
Craig had just returned from walking his dogs when we started, and after a few minutes of “can you hear me now?” troubleshooting, we were already diving deep into topics that matter to our industry. It felt less like a formal meeting and more like two professionals exchanging experiences across continents, me in Riyadh, him in the U.S. connected purely through Xchange.
What We Talked About
-
AI in AV Workflows
Craig shared how AI is being tested in architectural and engineering processes, helping coordinate multiple disciplines early in a project. He also pointed out the opportunity for integrators to act more like consultants from the very beginning.
On my side, I shared how our team at @MaktabiTech has already deployed AI-powered avatars in medical reception areas, showing that these ideas are not just theory, but reality. -
Integration Models
Craig spoke about his long advocacy for a model where integrators are brought in earlier and rewarded for their design input, rather than only at the implementation stage. I found this especially relevant to the kind of projects we’re handling in Saudi Arabia today. -
Publishing and Engagement
We both agreed that sharing insights on Xchange is important, but so is asking for feedback to spark true dialogue. I highlighted my “AV Truth” series, where I share lessons from behind-the-scenes project work, and Craig talked about his many contributions encouraging integrators to work closer with architects and engineers. -
Immersive and Educational Spaces
From Saudi’s Vision 2030 immersive command centers to U.S. higher-ed simulation labs, it was clear that the future of our industry is global and interconnected.
Why It Matters
This was not a panel or a keynote—it was a casual chat, sparked entirely by Xchange. And yet, I walked away with new perspectives, fresh ideas, and the sense of being part of something bigger than just my projects.
For me, this proves that Xchange is more than a platform for posting—it’s a real opportunity to build connections, exchange knowledge, and grow together as professionals.
My Takeaway
Our conversation ended with thanks, promises to share resources, and even some laughter about walking dogs and time zones. But the lesson I want to share with you all is this:
Take Xchange seriously. Reach out. Invite someone for a chat. You’ll be surprised how much value can come from a simple virtual coffee.

Mohannad, thanks for posting this. And thank you for reaching out to schedule our talk. I really enjoyed our conversation. It proved you can have a coffee at 10 am EST and 4 pm Saudi Arabia Standard Time and have fun too.
We need more 'casual conversation' in xChange and in the industry. We share common challenges, and together we can create solutions. AI, AVoIP, IPMX, and other emerging technology trends deserve our close attention and continued development to demonstrate our value to the clients we serve in the workplace, education, healthcare, retail, and entertainment sectors.
Absolutely brilliant, @Craig Park and @Mohannad Mousa, CTS!
This is what Xchange is all about: real conversations, real impact.
I’m inspired to connect for my next virtual coffee!
