Regus recently surveyed 2,258 UK-based office workers and company leaders to determine their views on the metaverse and its impact on the future of the workplace.

The results of Regus' study indicate that more than two-thirds of company leaders believe that the metaverse will be the future of work. A similar proportion expects their organization to embrace the metaverse when the time is right.

Additionally, the study found that over 50% of office workers and company leaders believe hybrid workspaces will be essential to businesses' access to the metaverse.

In addition to these findings, the report found:

  • A majority of business leaders - 65% - believe that videoconferencing will be transformed by the metaverse more so than by any other technology.
  • Almost half of office workers believe the metaverse will improve communication.
  • Workers and leaders both believe the metaverse will boost onboarding and training.
  • According to more than half of those surveyed, hybrid and remote workers' mental health will improve through more opportunities for interaction in the metaverse.

According to the research, hybrid work and the metaverse are well suited to each other since the metaverse could further enhance the hybrid experience that millions worldwide have already embraced.

The survey, conducted by Mortar Research and commissioned by Regus, polled 2,258 UK-based office workers and company leaders between May 20-23, 2022.

Important that the statement above is included in the report. I am optimistic about what can be done in the metaverse, but believe we are a long time away from delivering quality experiences, and the ubiquity needed for corporate adoption beyond niche use.

How true!

Current figures show that there are probably more investors than actual users at the moment. And investors are also enquiring more and more intensively at Meta, for which almost US$ 15 billion were burnt in the Metaverse area.

Here is an interesting presentation on metaverse, at the recently held @Microsoft ignite event that gives some end user case examples of how metaverse is being used even today.

The classification of consumer, commercial and industrial metaverse is indeed intriguing!
