When Screens Watch Back: What AV Manufacturers Must Get Right About AI‑Enabled Digital Signage
Rethinking Education in AV
A Journey Toward Scalable Educational Solutions for AV Industry
Why, in a world so connected, does the AV industry still struggle to build a truly inclusive learning culture? Most training is aimed at technicians, but the truth is marketing, sales, logistics and procurement needs to understand AV to help our industry grow. When we share knowledge across all teams, we don’t just fill gaps; we open doors for new talent to grow.
Traditional education can’t keep up with how fast our industry moves. Physical classrooms and static content just don’t scale. Online dynamic learning is needed. With digital platforms, microlearning, AI-driven courses, hands-on activities and peer-to-peer exchange, all employees keep learning, anytime and anywhere. This makes AV knowledge accessible to everyone, not just a select few.
The next step is connecting learning directly to jobs. Here is the real magic. Imagine a digital space where new AV professionals complete courses, earn micro-credentials, and show their skills to employers. Here, learning isn’t just for personal growth; it’s a bridge to real career opportunities.
A talent marketplace in AV means breaking down silos, so every department gets AV-savvy.
Encouraging teams to learn from each other and innovate together, giving employers access to a wider, more diverse pool of talent.
Of course, there are challenges: Too many bite-sized lessons can overwhelm people. We need to balance quick wins with deeper learning; Personalized learning is great, but it can miss the bigger picture, broad skills needed for complex roles; and with so many online certificates, it’s getting harder to tell who really has the skills.
Market moves to where money is. Providing job opportunities together with knowledge is a key factor to scale up AV education.
Shared knowledge is the key to a stronger, more inclusive AV industry. When we connect learning to real opportunities, we help everyone grow and succeed.
How is your organization tackling these challenges? What’s working, and what isn’t? Share your stories and ideas in the comments. Let’s learn from each other and shape the future of AV.
In July 2023 I began to command the operation of DUCaaS, an AV technical services outsourcing company that is part of the Discabos Group. I am concerned about the future of the AV industry regarding two important topics: Education and Sustainability.
In November 2023 I started my role at SAVe, as Ambassador for Brazil. Today I serve in The Board of Directors and as co-chair of Sponsorships. I feel a deep sense of purpose in being part of SAVe.
I am marathon runner for pleasure, currently live in São Paulo, Brazil, with my wonderful wife Patricia and children Luca and Bianca.
