2026 Preview – What Our Experts Anticipate This Year
The first week of 2026 is now behind us. And there is a distinct feeling in the air already that this year will be fast-paced, eventful and full of momentum. One thing is definitely clear: both globally and within the AV industry, it certainly won’t be boring.
What exactly awaits us remains uncertain, of course. And yet, we asked our in-house experts at LANG what they expect from 2026, which developments they see emerging and which challenges they anticipate.
Naturally, these are educated guesses from our experts. Still, there are clear signals and dynamics that are very likely to shape the year ahead – such as the continued expansion and consolidation of artificial intelligence within the AV industry.
AI and video content will increasingly converge over the next twelve months. Artificial intelligence will fundamentally change the way content is created – and it has to. As LED pixel pitches become finer, content needs to become more flexible, and AI will deliver exactly that.
— Tobias Lang, CEO
In general, installations are expected to become more flexible, more layered and, above all, smarter and more inventive.
For 2026, I expect transparent LED to be used in even more creative ways. The more content designers engage with transparency as a medium, the broader and more versatile the applications will become. Both in events and in permanent installations.
— Alexander Prill, Director Business Development and Cooperations
At LANG, we do not leave the development of creative products and setups to chance, though. Driven by our ambition for innovation, we already have plans in place.
Technological progress will not stop in 2026 and neither will our pursuit of new, exciting products. We cannot reveal too much just yet, but in the coming year we will, among other things, embrace the continued convergence of LED and displays, combining this with ease of use and brilliant image quality. One thing is certain: it will be worth keeping an eye on.
— Svenja Mevissen, Director LED & Displays
One particular sector will continue its upward trajectory and further captivate markets around the world.
In the coming year, the drone market will continue to gain depth. I expect drone shows and other immersive technologies to be conceived together more frequently. For 2026, I also anticipate that more and more companies will discover the sky as a canvas. This has already happened in China. And next year, the trend will fully spill over into Europe.
— Alexander Prill
In the drone sector, I expect significant technological advances in 2026. Greater operational flexibility and scalable systems such as the Damoda V4, which we have newly added to our LANG inventory, will further shape the market.
— Pablo Ledda, Director International Sales
Drone shows and projection mapping will increasingly go hand in hand. To me, it makes sense that two of the most immersive visual technologies are converging and coming together to create particularly intense, multi-layered experiences. The technology is ready, now the willingness needs to follow.
— Tobias Lang
From a global perspective, times remain somewhat uncertain. Current political and economic developments do not necessarily provide clarity. This makes one aspect all the more important for us: global exchange and close collaboration with our partners.
International exchange will remain a key focus for us. The major Infocomm trade fairs in India and Mexico last year were strong indicators of what will matter even more in 2026. good ideas and perspectives are universal – and strengthening collaboration across markets will therefore be essential.
— Pablo Ledda
Direct exchange with users will remain an important driver of technological development. In 2026, it will be even more about listening closely to which solutions are truly needed in everyday practice.
— Manuel Müller, Director Rental
And no, I can’t tell you what tariff you will have to pay.
