As an architect by training (BS Architecture, Cal Poly SLO) and a collaborative technologist with four decades of practice, I’m passionate about mentoring the next generation of AV professionals in the intersection of technology, strategy, and leadership. I've been active in AVIXA since 1986, and served on the national board, 1993-2000. I'm a Fellow of the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), and an Associate member of the American Institute of Architects.  My expertise spans audiovisual systems design, integrated building technology, strategic business development, and higher education technology planning. I bring an award-winning, B2B design thinking approach developed through leadership roles with national AEC and technology firms. I’ve led marketing and sales strategy, designed future-ready digital experience environments, and helped organizations implement AI-powered tools to scale expertise and performance. I’m available as a mentor or advisor in areas including AV system design for education and civic spaces, AI-enhanced business development, strategic marketing for integrators and consultants, digital experience planning, and leadership development for rising professionals. A University of Central Florida double-alum with a Master’s in Digital Media, I'm a content creator who loves bringing people together over shared interests. As AVIXA's Coordinator of Digital Content, I produce articles on a myriad of technology topics. I've also worked on virtual reality projects, transforming Romanian folk tales into VR narratives. 

With over 20 years of experience in the AV and ELV industries, I specialize in AV system design, installation, management, and integration across diverse sectors, including corporate, education, sports, healthcare, hospitality, and government. My career began in 2003 with the AV team at a 5-star hotel in Lebanon, where I developed a passion for AV systems. I hold certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI, as well as CTS-D and CTS-I from AVIXA, blending technical expertise with strong project leadership. I have extensive experience deploying technologies from leading manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, and many others, while managing vendors and ensuring seamless integration. Currently, I am part of BLINQ, a division of IMAR Trading and Contracting in Qatar, where I serve as the ELV Projects Manager, focusing on ELV systems and immersive AV solutions. I am committed to continuous learning, staying ahead of industry trends, and mentoring emerging professionals to elevate the AV field

Started my career in the insurance industry, specifically Workers comp. Eleven years ago I answered a call from an old friend I  went to grade school with and he asked me to come help him manage his broadcast cabling company. That old friend is Carl Craver and the company is Viper Cabling Inc.  WE handle everything from small voice and data /AV installs to large broadcast projects.  I took over Carl's  spot on the ITS Council and have been volunteering ever since 2012. I am excited to have been recently elected as the ITS Council chair.   As the new Chair I hope to recruit new members that would like to be a part of our next charity project. 

Alan C. Brawn - CTS, DSCE, DSDE, DSNE, DCME, DSSP, ISF, ISF-C Alan Brawn is a principal of Brawn Consulting, an audio visual and digital signage consulting, training, educational development, and market intelligence company with national exposure to major manufacturers, integrators, and associations in the industry. Alan is an industry veteran with experience spanning 4 decades and a recognized author for leading industry publications. Alan is an Imaging Science Foundation fellow and co-founder of ISF Commercial. He holds CTS certification and is an educational contributor to AVIXA. He was the moderator of the ANSI Projected Image System Contrast Ratio (PISCR) standard. Brawn was awarded the AVIXA Volunteer of the Year Award in 2011, and he is one of the founders and the past Chairman of the Digital Signage Federation. He is a DSF Legacy recipient and the Digital Signage Federation educator of the year award is named after him. Alan C. Brawn received the Fred Dixon Lifetime Achievement in AV Education from AVIXA in 2015.
