For our October ‘25 Xchange Community Spotlight, we’re featuring @Urmil Vaidhya, a Remote Solution Design Engineer with CASAPLEX LLC (USA), who is based in India.

After graduating with a degree in audio engineering, he discovered his current passion and profession—working in the AV industry. In 2010, he made the official decision to step into the AV integration business. And in 2019, he completed his CTS certification. Both shaped his career and gave him the confidence to grow further. They also led him to working at CASAPLEX LLC (USA).

Since Urmil lives in India but operates on U.S. hours for his job, his workday usually begins in the evenings, hopping on calls with the U.S. team to discuss new project inquiries. From there, he begins the process of creating design concepts and quotes.

“As a consultant, I bring over 10 years of experience, mainly from the Indian AV market,” he said. “And I am fortunate to have a very supportive co-founder, Mr. Derek Goldstein, who has always given me the freedom to take projects from concept through to final design submissions.”

The AV industry in Urmil’s home country of India is steadily growing and moving toward becoming a more mature market.

“End-users are now more aware of industry standards, thanks to the collective efforts of organizations like AVIXA and individuals driving this change. Over the next five years, India’s AV market will undergo significant transformation as technology requirements continue to reform across all sectors,” he stated.

Throughout his career, he’s noticed many changes and trends. He believes advancements in bilingual and multilingual conference calls will be the next key trend in the future of AV.

“AI has already made things possible that seemed unimaginable just five years ago,” he said. “With real-time translation and communication becoming seamless, language barriers will no longer be an obstacle. This will not only improve collaboration but also help bridge cultural differences and reduce misunderstandings globally.”
