2026 Preview – What Our Experts Anticipate This Year
We’ve followed many exciting developments and topics that continue to make the AV world an incredibly dynamic industry. There were new products, emerging trends, and exciting technologies that defined 2024 – both in the industry at large and within LANG AG.
To get a small glimpse into the past year, we asked our experts about what impressed them in 2024. Their responses are fascinating insights that vividly show what has been keeping the people in the AV world busy.
A lot has happened in the LED and display sector:
In the LED display sector, we finally saw a major step forward in COB technologies. Improved pre-binning was the key detail here. And, of course, simplicity: RGB flip-chip diodes directly bonded to the board? It doesn’t get much simpler, more cost-efficient, or more robust than that.
Transparent LED really gained momentum. Just twelve months ago, MUXWAVE was our latest newcomer of the year – and now we’re seeing how the initial potential of this technology has been further realised through products like MUXWAVE and LUCY. This has led to many exciting formats and applications we could barely imagine before.
Speaking of LEDs and Displays: In addition to MUXWAVE and LUCY, there were some exciting product highlights:
At ISE 2024, we showcased a LEDgend 8K LED wall with a pixel pitch of 0.9 mm – not only a personal highlight of the year for me but also an impressive first step for LANG into the COB market.
The introduction of ARUNA this year has set new standards in our LED rental portfolio. With its impressive image quality, robust design, and versatility – whether indoor or outdoor – it showcases the full potential of modern LED technology.
2024 was the year of drone shows at LANG AG – this field of business came a long way:
I think, looking back, 2024 will be remembered as the year drones broke through in the European market. At the start of 2023, I had high expectations but was a little disappointed after the first twelve months. However, as always with something new, patience is key. Thankfully, we had that, made a few adjustments, and were ultimately surprised by how frequently the drones were deployed throughout the summer.
After artificial intelligence made a huge wave globally, the first ProAV applications with the technology also made their appearance:
AI remains a major topic: In the Pro AV sector, I especially noticed AI in the improved PTZ camera tracking features from manufacturers like Panasonic and Sony.
At the end of 2024, LANG AG announced its expansion beyond European borders: LANG Middle East is the company’s latest milestone:
After a long period of preparation, we were finally able to launch LANG Middle East this year. The groundwork is laid, and now we’re ready to hit the ground running.
For the general strengthening of the international sector, the International Sales department evolved:
In the first half of the year, the focus in International Sales was on turning our group into a real team: integrating new faces and building a solid foundation. This has prepared us to take the next step in 2025.
And finally, back home, there were challenges that needed to be conquered:
This year was challenging nationally due to economic conditions. We know that AV is always an early adopter, and this also applies in economic cycles. Internationally, however, the situation is far more promising. Our move to Dubai is an exciting step. In 2017, we transformed a national company into a continental one. Now, seven years later, we’re venturing beyond Europe. As always, and likely in the future, this is driven by the people behind it.
