You’re right that there are multiple methodologies used across the industry (including Plana, and various manufacturers), and they don’t always align perfectly. The goal here was to simplify the concept for a broader audience rather than present a strict engineering standard.
That said, I agree that adding more clarity around the differences between these formulas would make the post stronger — I’ll refine that.
