InfoComm 2025: AVIXA Xchange LIVE Speaker Matt Pana

Matt Pana is Assistant Director of Media Technology at ISDA, where he specializes in AV solutions, event technology, and UCaaS.
At InfoComm 2025, he’ll join us for “AVIXA Xchange Advocates: Build a Thriving Pro AV Community” on AVIXA Xchange LIVE. In this free-to-attend panel, you’ll hear from Matt and three of his fellow AVIXA Xchange Advocates as they share information about the Advocacy Program and how it has empowered them through networking and conversation with their industry peers.
Matt, what big idea do you hope attendees take away from your session?
That community, and leaning on the shared experiences of others, is valuable. Iron sharpens iron, and with the ever-growing landscape of AV technologies, everyone can use all the help we can get... from consultants, integrators, tech managers, content creators, and more!
What's one AV trend that excites you?
The ever-evolving meeting room and collaboration spaces! When I first started in AV nearly 7 years ago, we still had SIP and H323 calling in our meeting rooms taking up large racks which not only took up electrical power, but manpower (staffing, maintenance, cost, etc). Now with our Logi Rally Bar deployments in our global offices, the footprint and blueprint of corporate AV has shifted drastically for the better.
If you could instantly master any AV skill or technology, what would it be?
Other than being able to read people's minds (I kid, I kid), I would love to master the skill of creating a portable broadcast studio that maintains consistent quality, minimizes latency, and is easy-to-use no matter who is running the show. Most of ISDA's events are global and require non-IT and AV people to oversee broadcast teams and equipment. This can be a great tool in our back-pocket to alleviate the need for larger, costly operations that may not fit into our scope.
What should people in the AV industry be talking about more?
Meeting equity, but through the lens of different generations. We techie folks love to beta test the latest tricks and gadgets, but not everyone within our teams is as keen or knowledgeable, especially when it comes to change. Get feedback from your peers, gain insights from your organization’s leaders, and see what solutions fit best for you.
Plug-in your crystal ball, and describe the future of AV… in one sentence.
Foster human connection above all else. Being a subject-matter expert in your field requires that you establish trust, and view the industry a few steps ahead of others. My manager gave me some excellent advice when it comes to applying AI in an IT/AV context: "Lead with guidance, not fear!"
InfoComm is right around the corner. What’s your favorite part of being there?
My favorite part of being at InfoComm are the surprises I find at every turn. The show can feel like a lot to take in all at once, especially for first timers. Start slow, find partners and areas that relate to your field, then branch out and explore as the week continues.

Thanks for the feature sir! Really excited to share the stage with a diverse set of influencers :)
My pleasure, Matt! Really appreciated getting to talk with you and hear your thoughts. I found your remarks about meeting equity through a generational lens to be incredibly insightful. As workforces grow more diverse from a generational perspective, the considerations that should be taken into account to ensure teams move forward as one are expanding faster than we sometimes realize.
Looking forward to seeing you in action at InfoComm!
