On Wednesday, June 11, InfoComm 2025 attendees had the opportunity to witness the power of digital community building at the AVIXA Xchange Advocates: Building a Thriving Pro AV Community session. Held at Booth 4761, this 45-minute conversation brought together voices from across the globe to share how the AVIXA Xchange is fostering collaboration, advocacy, and professional growth in the AV industry.

A Community with Purpose

AVIXA Xchange is more than a networking site—it's a dynamic space where AV professionals, thought leaders, and newcomers can connect, exchange ideas, and shape the future of the industry. At the heart of this platform is the Xchange Advocate Program, a growing initiative that empowers members to take an active role in community development.

The session showcased how the Xchange connects professionals from around the world to share insights, create valuable dialogue, and support one another in navigating the ever-evolving AV landscape.

Stories from the Front Lines

Moderated in an engaging and accessible format, the session featured five diverse and passionate Xchange Advocates, @Matt Pana @Kristin Bidwell @Virginia Molina @Paul Konikowski, CTS-D, CISSP

The discussion highlighted several key themes:

  • The value of a global digital community, where professionals from all regions and sectors can connect beyond physical limitations and collaborate meaningfully across borders.

  • The power of sharing real-world experiences, emphasizing how open discussions on the platform lead to tangible learning and practical insights.

  • The importance of diversity and regional representation, with the Xchange serving as a platform to amplify voices from various backgrounds, geographies, and career paths.

  • The impact of the Advocacy Program, which empowers members to play an active role in shaping the future of the platform, acting as ambassadors and content creators.

Why It Matters

This session wasn’t just a showcase—it was a call to action. The panelists emphasized that the success of AVIXA Xchange depends on community participation. Becoming an Advocate isn’t just about visibility; it’s about impact. Whether by leading conversations, sharing experiences, or amplifying underrepresented voices, Advocates are helping shape the future of professional AV.

The session wrapped up with an open invitation for all InfoComm attendees to join the AVIXA Xchange and consider becoming an Advocate. Participation is free and open to anyone eager to contribute to a vibrant, forward-looking AV community.

In a rapidly transforming industry, digital communities like the AVIXA Xchange are essential.
