Led several industry-first enterprise video-over-IP projects. Founded HiCLIFF with a mission to help address the challenges of managing and securing new modern networked AV and media environments.

Senior Director of Development for AVIXA in EMEA with over 20 years experience in AV and IT industries. Started off in sound engineering in the late 90s then pursued a career in IT. After working in web development I returned to AV and have not looked back! I do at times pine to work more directly with the amazing technology available today to help create great AV experiences but I do get to see them being shared and celebrated! A University of Central Florida double-alum with a Master’s in Digital Media, I'm a content creator who loves bringing people together over shared interests. As AVIXA's Coordinator of Digital Content, I produce articles on a myriad of technology topics. I've also worked on virtual reality projects, transforming Romanian folk tales into VR narratives. 

Since more than 12 years head of team of around 30people managing the meeting room infrastructure at the European Commission. We manage every day a mix of small, boardroom and high level rooms with up to 23 interpretation booths.

I am responsible for Global Industry Engagement for AVIXA, including all membership, councils, sponsorships, and engagement programs. Oversee global sales and account management programs including our global partner accounts. Member of Strategic leadership team with involvement in association operational management and product development to meet Member needs and deliver them profitably. This function engages AVIXA ProAV members across all segments and global regions to maximize Association membership growth, member engagement, and revenue.

Jhon Alvarez – Systems Integrator Engineer | AV & Automation Specialist As an AV & Systems Integration Engineer, I bring over a decade of experience in Pro AV, IoT, automation, cloud computing, and acoustic design. My career spans Colombia, the UK, and Malta, where I’ve successfully led and delivered 50+ AV projects across corporate, education, and government sectors. Holding an MBA in Business Administration and a Sound Engineering degree, along with multiple AVIXA-recognized certifications, I specialize in designing scalable, automated, and user-friendly AV solutions that enhance collaboration and efficiency. I’ve worked closely with industry leaders like Biamp®, Barco®, Crestron®, and Dante®, integrating advanced AV technologies to meet evolving market needs. Passionate about AV innovation and automation, I actively engage in professional forums, knowledge-sharing, and industry discussions. At SpinetiX, I drive multichannel comms campaigns and oversee digital marketing, from website management to social media growth. I collaborate in cross-functional initiatives together with the product, support, and development teams to create product documentation. My role also involves directing our digital signage academy with AVIXA-approved courses and developing engaging brand-aligned content, as well as coordinating with internal and external partners to fulfill our marketing strategies. All this, while thriving in a multicultural setting of teammates from across the globe.
