At ISE, current CTS holders and those interested in learning more about the credentials gathered at Xchange LIVE.

@Holger Wiesenberg, CTS, and @Erica Giordano, CTS, shared their experiences on how CTS has helped them in their own careers. Moderated by @Kevin Iselli, the discussion covered what CTS has meant for them in their careers in Europe.

For Erica, the personal value on her accomplishment at earning the CTS was a top highlight. Holdger talked about the two “networking” values – both in how AV and IT are converging and in the network on other professionals. He shared a story of how, at one company, one the C-suite understood the value of CTS, they encouraged their whole team to follow suite.

An audience poll showed that the majority of people would recommend CTS to a colleague.

The panel also shared these benefits:

  • Sense of community
  • Standard for background knowledge,
  • Commitment to lifelong learning
  • Way to maintain your expertise

The show was great. Maybe next year?

The commitment to lifelong learning is definitely a theme that came up -- and important in our industry.

Obtaining the CTS-D certification showcases my expertise and proficiency in designing audiovisual systems. This certification validates my knowledge in various areas, including project management, technical design, documentation, and coordination with other trades.

Similarly, the CTS-I certification signifies my expertise in the installation and integration of audiovisual systems. It confirms my knowledge in equipment installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and the implementation of industry standards and best practices.

Personally, holding these certifications greatly enhances my career opportunities. They demonstrate my commitment to professional development and provide me with a competitive edge in the industry. These certifications signify a significant level of knowledge, expertise, and professionalism in their respective areas of specialization.
