In a commitment to nurturing diversity, equity, and inclusion, HETMA has proudly partnered with AVIXA to offer scholarships aimed at fostering the growth of underrepresented communities in the U.S. higher education technology sector. This scholarship aims to encourage individuals from various backgrounds—including women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, Black, Latino, Asian, Indigenous, and disabled persons—to become influential leaders and role models in the realm of educational technology management.

Scholarship Benefits

Recipients of this scholarship will be acknowledged for their dedication and determination to make a significant impact as audiovisual (AV) professionals. They will be recognized for exhibiting an unwavering commitment to continued education and for having a passion for both higher education and the unique experiences that audiovisual technology facilitates.

The scholarship offers:

- A one-year Elite Membership to AVIXA
- Full access to AVIXA's entire online education catalog
- Enrollment in a virtual Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) prep course
- Inclusive course materials
- Coverage of exam fees for the CTS exam

Eligibility

1. Belong to an underrepresented community within the AV industry; Women, LGBTQIA+, Black, Latino or Hispanic, Asian, Indigenous, Disabled Persons or other as identified.
2. Employed at a recognized higher education institution and have an email address from
your institution (.edu, edu.au, ac.nz, or ac.uk, etc.).
3. Not currently employed full time by an audiovisual company.
4. Demonstrates a keen interest in an AV career or specialty.
5. Does not qualify for employment based professional development funding to pursue a
CTS qualification.
