How do AV teams preflight projector installs before load-in?

I’m looking for feedback from AV, projection, museum, and immersive installation professionals.

Hi everyone,

I’m building FieldLux, a projection preflight tool for AV teams working on projection mapping, museum/exhibition installs, immersive rooms, and large venue projection.

It’s not a media server or mapping playback tool. The goal is to help teams check projector placement, throw distance, estimated surface brightness, coverage, overlap, and placement risk before load-in.

I’m curious how people here currently handle this stage in real projects.

For projector-based installs, do you usually rely on projector calculators, CAD drawings, previous experience, manufacturer tools, or on-site testing?

I’d especially love to hear what kind of preflight report would actually be useful for clients, integrators, or crew.

I’d really appreciate any thoughts from people who work on projector-based installs.
