Call for Volunteers: Cable Labeling Standard Revision Task Group
AVIXA Standards and the Standards Steering Committee are assembling a volunteer task group to revise AVIXA F501.01:2015, Cable Labeling for Audiovisual Systems, ensuring it reflects today’s best practices and tomorrow’s challenges.
About the Standard:
Cable Labeling for Audiovisual Systems defines requirements for audiovisual system cable labeling for a variety of venues. The purpose of this standard is to provide clear and robust identification of signal cabling aligned with the completed system’s documentation, to aid in the construction, technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
What You’ll Do:
Discuss and draft changes to the current standard
Share insights from your professional experience
Collaborate with peers in virtual meetings
Address questions and feedback through technical and public review
Time Commitment:
Approximately 2+ hours per month (meetings + review work)
Project expected to run for 12 months
All work is done remotely
