Mongolia has been selected as one of the first six countries to participate in the "Global Platform to Improve Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines," a joint initiative by the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the U.S., running until 2027. This initiative allows the use of medicines produced in strictly regulated countries for the treatment of six common types of childhood cancers.

The joint team has visited the Ministry of Health, the National Center for Maternal and Child Health, the National Center for Communicable Diseases’ medical warehouse, and reviewed customs clearance and quarantine operations, as well as warehouse activities at Chinggis Khaan International Airport.

Additionally, they will conduct training for doctors and specialists on pediatric cancer drug treatment, storage, distribution, and preparation. They will also provide an assessment and recommendations regarding the preparations made over the past six months for receiving the medicines.
