Retail Automation and EV Charging are others. Self-service technology (SST) is a type of technology that allows customers to perform various tasks without the assistance of a human. SSTs can bring many benefits to both customers and businesses, including cost savings, improved efficiency, and better customer experience. Dr. Josiah Way is the Executive Director, Digital Spaces at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), known as a revolutionary visionary and innovator in the audiovisual industry. As the leading educational technology thought leader, Joe was recognized as the 2019 AV Professional of the Year, 2023 AV Living Legend, 2008 Businessman of the Year, and is named to multiple top industry and influencers lists, including the 2024 global Top 100 Innovators and Entrepreneurs, 2024 Who’s Who in America, 2023 Top 50 UC Professionals, and 2019 and 2022 Top 30 Higher Ed IT Leaders lists. He is a highly sought keynote speaker and writer, most acclaimed for his innovative design of the technology standard for hybrid instruction and business development within the higher ed vertical. Joe is the cofounder of the Higher Education Technology Managers Alliance (HETMA) and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Higher Ed AV Media, host of the Higher Ed AV Podcast, and writer of the Business of AV monthly column. Joe has over 30 years’ experience in education, technical production and the arts, and organizational leadership and management. In his free time, Joe enjoys cruising the lake on his boat with family and friends, golfing PGA West, and perfecting his Traeger meat-smoking techniques. I started on the prewire crew and have done most jobs in the residential AV world. I settled on Crestron Programming and now have an amazing team to work with on some of the largest most complex jobs around. I firmly believe if you are not pushing the boundaries then you are falling behind so place a large emphasis on development.

Since 2004, I have been involved in several professional projects, including live performances and studio productions, as an audio developer and a key member of the production team, under the brand of "Stationary Traveller Studio". Later in 2015, my journey led me to Germany, where I later graduated as Tonmeister, and continued my path with the roles such as freelance sound engineer, creative technologist, and R&D specialist in various projects. Starting from 2017, I joined Sulfation as a branch to develop multiple projects (Audio-Visual) in immersive media, 360 experiences, interactive installations, and live setups, with my concentration on producing and engineering spatial audio and developing creative methods for mixing and mastering in immersive environments. With the introduction of the artificial intelligence as tool to speedup the workflow and tackle bottlenecks, I delved into the world of AI Gateway, and so far, I have been able to harvest its various applications in multiple projects and in a diverse range. Since 2022, I am working as a member of the audio team of Staatstheater Darmstadt, where I get the chance to work on diverse, innovative, and successful live performances on the daily basis, and immerse myself deeper into working with the most reliable and expansive technologies, while being a member of very proactive and professional team.
