In recent years, the Latin American audiovisual sector has seen the rise of outstanding professionals who, through hard work, discipline, and passion, have transformed the industry. One of those voices is Diana Patricia Quintero, CTS, currently serving as Sales Director for Latin America at Bose Professional. Her career reflects determination, resilience, and a deep commitment to opening doors for future generations.

Creative Roots and Early Steps

Diana’s connection to the audiovisual world began at home, in an environment shaped by photography and creativity.

I grew up in a household where imagery and innovation were always present. With my first paycheck, I bought myself a camera — an achievement that symbolized my passion for this field,” she recalls.

That passion grew stronger in college, where she developed a business project as her thesis — one that ultimately became a great success.

Encouraged by that momentum and the support of her family, she made the bold decision to leave her stable job and co-found her first audiovisual company with her partners.

My mother was a tremendous source of inspiration. During a challenging economic time, her confidence and support motivated me to move forward. She taught me that with effort and perseverance, any obstacle can be overcome.”

Overcoming Challenges Through Learning and Dedication

The early years were not easy. Diana faced resistance from some who questioned a young woman entering what has often been a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Her response was total commitment. I worked side by side with technicians, learning every detail of the installations. Many nights were sleepless, but that hands-on experience allowed me to deeply understand each project and earn everyone’s trust.”

She added that practical experience with courses and certifications strengthened her credibility and solidified her leadership. Today, that period of intense effort forms one of the strongest foundations of her career.

Pride in Teamwork

Among her many accomplishments, Diana highlights one in particular: building and strengthening her regional team.

Beyond the projects themselves, I’m proud to have helped create opportunities for professionals, both within Bose Professional and across our partner network throughout Latin America. Seeing how we’ve grown together and how the community has strengthened is one of my greatest satisfactions.”

Female Leadership and Diversity

Amid a landscape that’s increasingly changing, Diana has forged her path with determination.

When I started at Bose about 14 years ago, the presence of women in the audio sector was very limited. Today, I’m proud to say that a significant portion of our team in Latin America and our partner network is made up of women. That diversity is one of our greatest strengths.”

Aware that barriers still exist, she encourages young women interested in the industry to first ask themselves whether they truly feel passionate about it.

This isn’t a desk job industry. It’s vibrant, dynamic, full of innovation and challenges. If you love adventure and creativity, you’ll find a fascinating path here. Be willing to learn and get involved — every experience will become an opportunity for growth.”

Balance and Purpose

Diana’s day-to-day life is as intense as it is diverse: travel, meetings, strategy sessions, and personal reflection. Yoga, meditation, and staying connected with her family are essential to maintaining balance.

Her routine varies depending on whether she’s working from home or traveling. The weeks I travel are usually very intense — no two days are the same. Each one brings new challenges and opportunities. Travel days are dynamic, with extended schedules filled with events, networking, and meaningful connections, which makes them enriching and energizing. Travel allows me to shift perspectives, understand different markets, and apply what I learn with a broader mindset.”

On the other hand, weeks at home are more focused on planning. I can dedicate more time to defining strategies and specific tasks, often with greater flexibility. In either case, my day might start as early as 3:00 a.m. to catch a flight, and it may end at midnight or 6:00 p.m. I always try to include a short yoga session, listen to a podcast while getting ready, and connect with my family — that helps me maintain balance and the energy needed to face each day.”

I believe balance isn’t static; it needs to be reassessed constantly. What matters most is remembering our purpose and what we truly value, because that helps us make better decisions and enjoy every aspect of our lives.”

Looking Ahead

What is Diana's vision for the future of the AV industry? I would love to see the industry continue moving toward greater flexibility and creativity, listening to the voices of young professionals and passionate individuals who want to make a difference. With technologies like artificial intelligence emerging, we need to be more adaptive and collaborative in order to continue leading change.”

Her professional dream remains closely tied to Latin America: strengthening regional structures, leveraging local talent, and ensuring the region’s potential gains greater international visibility.

There’s a bright future for Latin America, and I want to continue contributing to making that vision a reality,” she affirms.
