TAA (Trade Agreement Act) compliance rules are an important consideration for the procurement of goods and services for federal government contracts. When it comes to Crestron products, almost all are TAA-compliant*.
Under the Trade Agreement Act, the TAA governs trade agreements negotiated between the United States and other countries; the Government may acquire only “U.S.-made or designated country end products.” The act requires contractors to certify that each finished product—articles, materials, and supplies to be acquired for public use—meets the applicable requirements.
Products are TAA-compliant if they are either completely manufactured or "substantially transformed" in the U.S. prior to being marketed and sold. A product can also be considered TAA-compliant if it is manufactured in a TAA-designated country. **A TAA-designated country is a nation with which the U.S. maintains a trade agreement and the U.S. regards as a reliable or acceptable procurement source.
“Substantially transformed” means a product was deliberately changed (normally because of processing or manufacturing in the country of origin) in its appearance, form, name, character, or use distinct from that of the article or articles from which it was transformed. This requirement can be satisfied by showing that at least 50 percent of production took place there or that the changes that took place in a TAA-approved country were essential to the finished good (i.e., to its purpose and function).
TAA compliance, outside of the mandate for federal sales of products, can be an assurance to non-federal government agencies and companies that value “made in the U.S.A.” attributes as a vendor sourcing check-off item.
Because nearly all Crestron products are TAA compliant, you can be assured they will meet the demands and requirements for all General Services Administration (GSA) contracts.

** TAA-designated countries include those with a free trade agreement with the U.S., such as Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Peru, Morocco, Australia, and Singapore. Designated countries include those participating in the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement (WTO GPA). A complete list of TAA-designated countries can be found here.
