When visiting cultural, tourist, and educational venues, few people stop to consider what elements are creating the immersive experience they’re enjoying. Without a doubt, audiovisual technology plays a key role in delivering that impact and capturing the attention of every audience member.

In environments such as museums, science centers, or aquariums, state-of-the-art AV solutions do more than impress visitors—they enhance storytelling, deepen emotional engagement, and increase educational value.

A prime example of this transformation is the recent renovation of the Aquarium in the Port of Veracruz, one of Mexico’s most iconic tourist and marine conservation landmarks. Thanks to an ambitious project led by the state government, the venue has taken a major technological leap, positioning itself as a national benchmark in immersive experiences.

A Façade that Grabs Attention at First Sight

One of the most innovative aspects of this upgrade was the use of LED technology on the building’s main façade, blending architecture, themed design, and cutting-edge technology. LEDEC, a company specializing in high-performance LED display solutions, was responsible for supplying and installing a striking 136-square-meter outdoor screen with a 6 mm pixel pitch, visible from Manuel Ávila Camacho Boulevard.

This screen, part of LEDEC’s ST Series, is built to withstand outdoor environments in all weather conditions while maintaining exceptional brightness, contrast, and resolution. Its ability to display 3D content has transformed the façade into a true window into the marine world, delivering a visually captivating experience from the moment visitors arrive.

Technology, Design, and Education in Harmony

The transformation didn’t stop at the exterior. LEDEC also contributed to the creation of immersive rooms inside the facility, integrating screens and AV technologies that foster a deeper connection with marine ecosystems. The entrance was enhanced with illuminated jellyfish and fish figures, reinforcing the aquatic theme from the very first step and immersing visitors in a sensory experience.

The screen installation was completed in just three days, demonstrating not only LEDEC’s operational efficiency, but also its ability to collaborate closely with architectural developers and technology integrators.

A Milestone for the AV Industry

This project marks a pivotal moment for both the Aquarium of Veracruz and LEDEC. For the aquarium, it means offering a richer experience that blends entertainment, education, and environmental awareness. For LEDEC, it represents the consolidation of its ability to deliver complex projects with high quality standards, strengthening its position as a strategic partner for integrators and developers in the professional AV sector.

Beyond being a refreshed tourist attraction, the Aquarium of Veracruz reaffirms its role as a hub for scientific outreach, environmental education, and marine conservation. AV technology not only enhances the visitor experience—it also amplifies conservation messages, a crucial element in a world where sustainability is a global priority.
