As young entrepreneurs, we get caught up in marketing and sales. The more followers you have, more traffic to the website, more email addresses, more newsletters equals more sales, RIGHT?! Well, that’s not my story.

I attended a stage play/show yesterday where it could not be recorded. In my mind, I was thinking about actors, musicians, stage hands, audio engineers who needed to build their portfolio…so I inquired. Come to find out, there is no budget for just a quick highlight for each person who desires to build their portfolio. #1, contact the owner of this theater and tell them you’d like to help a few people build their portfolio FOR FREE. #2, find out what the actors/actresses need in a highlight clip and do it.  #3, When it’s done, don’t  include any watermarks or ask the people to tag you in the final product. That’s tacky. Instead, I will continue to build with these same individuals throughout their careers on the stage. This is called BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS! Oh, don’t forget about the owner of the theater. Get some feedback from them to see how you can use your skills to help them reach their goals. 

When you look to solve problems, you’ll NEVER HAVE TO SELL A DAY IN YOUR LIFE! THE REVENUE IS IN THE RELATIONSHIPS.
