Panasonic Mevix PT-RQ45K – Why You Can (And Should) Start Your Projection With This Newcomer Right Away
Shortly before ISE 2026, Tobias Lang announced that LANG had invested in a full 100 units. At the show itself, the product was already on display in all its glory at the LANG booth.
It didn’t hold a very prominent position right in the middle of the booth floor by coincidence. And although the Gaudí-esque projection mapping was an eye-catcher on its own, it only hinted at its full potential. Because Panasonic Connect Europe Mevix’s new projection highlight is seriously powerful, especially considering its size.
The PT-RQ45K is Panasonic’s first projector under the new Mevix brand and comes with specs that carry real weight: the 3-chip DLP projector is 4K-capable and delivers 42,000 ANSI lumens. According to the manufacturer, it is the smallest and lightest projector in its class – so compact, in fact, that its dimensions match those of the previous RQ35K series.
That means more power with the same footprint. And it brings very tangible advantages: RQ35K accessories such as cases, frames and optional lenses can also be used with the PT-RQ45K. Established logistics processes remain in place, and there is no need big for readjustments. Speaking of handling: the PT-RQ45Ks by LANG come with a new frame featuring a removable front bar, combining stability and flexibility and enabling effortless use of UST lenses.

That covers the image and the handling. How does the PT-RQ45K perform in practice? One detail stands out immediately on the chassis: the five-inch display, which supports control and projection setup. Integration remains straightforward as well: In addition to HDMI, the PT-RQ45K supports 12G-SDI, keeping it compatible with many signal chains without detours. It is complemented by an Intel SDM slot, providing maximum flexibility when it comes to IP transmission standards and inputs.
In the field, the projector proves robust even under adverse conditions. Key circuit boards are UV-coated and designed to resist corrosion caused by fumes and salty air, allowing the system to withstand challenging environments. A modular board layout also simplifies maintenance and replacement.
An investment in a three-digit quantity does not happen by accident. With its set of features, the PT-RQ45K is set to become one of the go-to choices in high-end projection over the coming years. That is why LANG is ensuring sufficient inventory from the outset, for projects of any size.
And that is where the real appeal lies: a projector that packs this level of performance into these dimensions is rarely just technology. It becomes infrastructure for ideas, and the PT-RQ45K puts those ideas into the world with a sharpness and resilience that only few other devices can match.
