Monitoring live sounds for improved situational awareness
In a recent article by ASMAG, the role of audio analytics in a security context is being analyzed. Different industry leaders share their view and opinion on how the adaptation of AI-enabled cameras with onboard audio analytics can detect high-risk sounds, helping an operator to react when something stands out, such as glass breaking, yelling, or gunshots.
Intelligent IP-based speakers can also be equipped with audio analytics, and they might be useful in those areas where a camera is not allowed. Even in these circumstances, an operator can still receive alert notifications in case of unusual activities or disturbances.
