Extended Reality or XR
Is XR the next big thing? What is it exactly? The definitions I see online are kind of vague. Here at UVA we have had a VR and AR lab for a few years. It generates interest from gamers but what is the application that will make it as common place as web conferencing?
Is this something birthed out of the isolation ofCOVID-19? Is it Minority Report, with targeted marketing being generated in our brains and displayed on special lenses we feel compelled to wear to avoid the FOMO?
Is it something that will change AV or another flash in the pan?
