About Jonathan Ford
After 30 years of experience in the live event production side of the AV industry, I decided to pursue my CTS certification and pivot to the world of AV engineering. As the Director of Sales/System Designer for a small AV Integrator, I dove head-first into working with all aspects of the program/design/construction and verification phases of AV projects. I then accepted the role of Chief AV Engineer at the National Institutes of Health, responsible for the AV and Broadcast systems operations across the entire campus in Bethesda, MD. I earned my CTS-I credentials from AVIXA in 2022; and in 2023, I moved to the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, DC where I serve as the AV Engineer, working with a tremendous team of AV Techs. Currently, I am studying and working towards my CTS-D credential.
I am a life-long learner and love to take advantage of the training opportunities available through AVIXA, Crestron Training Institute, Harmon Professional, Extron, Biamp, Audinate and Q-Sys. I hold more than 20 certifications from these industry-leading manufacturers.
Creative problem-solving, system design, maintenance and troubleshooting, teamwork and mentoring are each activities that drive my passion for working in the audiovisual industry and keep me smiling at work each day.
