Should the EPR calculation on page 154 of the CTS-D exam guide be changed to look like my edit in the image?

I added the carat symbol to make the results match the diagram with Biamp's online calculator on page 156.  

Or is this an unfamiliar way to express exponents?  Parenthesis denote multiplication of a cordoned-off group of ordered operations to me, anyway.
