I studied mechanical engineering, and moved to Broadcast where I worked in television for 7 years specialising in live and outside broadcast.   In 1992 I transitioned from television to AV and set up Hewshott in 2002 as an independent consultancy practice.  I lead the Hewshott Group worldwide, supporting each office across 3 continents as they collectively deliver projects for clients worldwide. Hewshott provides advice and project delivery resources in the AV, IT and Acoustic sectors, blending all three as required to support clients as they navigate through the technical challenges across multiple vertical markets. Outside of Hewshott, I have engineered numerous recordings and specialise in sacred music recorded on-site and have recorded in some wonderful buildings.   In my spare time, my engineering roots surface as I have two classic cars that are in a constant state of repair and maintenance, and the occasional modification.

With more than 27 years of experience, I currently manage Viewhaus, my goal is to lead the company and make it a benchmark in the AV industry in Mexico, as well as being part of the most important AV service provider network around the world. I collaborate as an ambassador for SAVe (Sustainability in AV) in Mexico, as well as for AVIXA Xchange and I am part of the AVIXA sustainability advisory group, this allows me to endorse my interest and commitment to sustainability, circular economies and the environment.

With a background in advanced analytics, AI, digital twins, IoT, and cybersecurity, he has led companies across North America, Europe, and Asia. A former CEO and President of Optoma and EIKI, Robert has also served as a board member for a digital signage venture, bringing deep expertise in AV, enterprise technology, and innovation-driven growth.  Bitlogix began as an AV control software company, pioneering network-based solutions for IoT device management and AV system monitoring. Bitlogix has evolved into a leader in AI-driven and advanced analytics solutions, leveraging cutting-edge technology and data intelligence to serve multiple industries including the AV industry.

I am a production and AVL expert dedicated to bringing creative visions and concepts to life. I left my production home of 16 years in November 2021 and am currently building my own consulting business while keeping my options open for the right opportunity.  Since 1994, I have had the opportunity - both as a freelancer, small business owner, and an executive team leader - to work in delivering solutions on a scale that most people rarely see while up against timelines that seem impossible. My diverse, well-rounded background allows me to understand almost any organization or project's technical, creative, time management, and team building needs.
