Discovered AV while going to school at the University of Idaho for a degree in Information Systems. Began working in the AV field during my junior year of college as a distance learning classroom operator and provided AV setup and support for live events on campus. Worked my way up to running the field team for the AV department in the university's College of Agriculture.
Moved from the University of Idaho down to Boise, ID to start working for the State of Idaho as a hybrid project manager and technical support role. After 7 years at the state my position was downsized. I moved into the private sector as a do-it-all hire to help a local electrical company start a low voltage and AV division. My new role helped me to learn about all roles from sales to commisisoning as I worked to get the new division off the ground. During this time I discover all the things I liked and disliked in the AV world.
Armed with a better knowledge of the entire AV process, I came to realize my strengths were in the Project Management field. I had the privilege of earning a job with Neurilink, and the fortune of being part of our company joining with AVI Systems.
