Imagine a zoo without real animals. Sounds intriguing, right? Welcome to Zoocade in Austin, TX! This cutting-edge venue features 15-20 holographic animals brought to life with advanced 3D art, projectors, and software. Visitors embark on a global journey through a tunnel that transports them to different countries like Africa and Australia. But be prepared—these virtual animals can be a bit mischievous and might just leap right at you.

The innovative project is the handiwork of Axiom Holographics. We first covered their Hologram Zoo in Brisbane, Australia back in 2023, and now Austin offers a similar experience. This augmented reality (AR) adventure takes visitors down a high-tech hallway over 75 feet long and 36 feet wide. With the help of 3D glasses, the holographic creatures come to life right before your eyes. The approximately 30-minute exhibit even allows you to "feed the fishes"—just don't dive in with them!

The technology behind the Zoocade experience was named one of the "Best Inventions of 2023" by TIME Magazine.

Zoocade is redefining the conventional zoo experience through AR technology, offering an immersive encounter that blends digital art and global exploration.
