For our December Xchange Community Spotlight, we're featuring @Virginia Molina, who works at Proyecciones Digitales, an AV technology integrator recently selected to join GPA as the Regional Business Unit for Argentina and Uruguay. At Proyecciones, she’s been able to fully embrace four passions she’s had from a young age: creativity, intercultural communication, sustainability, and social responsibility.
“The AV industry in Argentina is passionate and resilient,” Virginia said. “My father’s passion for the AV industry dates back to before I was born, and over time, my sisters and I also embraced his enthusiasm. This lifelong exposure has made the AV world an integral part of my life.”
Her deep connection with AV technology took shape through the performing arts when she spent years immersed in circus and physical theater. Experiencing technology from an artistic perspective gave her a profound appreciation for its potential to create unique experiences. She has now been with Proyecciones for 12 years, and during her time there, she has gradually advanced through various positions.
“This year, I stepped into the role of Marketing and Institutional Relations Manager, taking on the exciting challenge of serving as the primary point of contact for all GPA-related matters!” she announced. “This alignment has made 2024 a truly transformative and fulfilling year for me. However, I feel there is still so much for me to learn and achieve. My personal goal is to earn the CTS certification next year.”
As a woman in AV, she encourages other women to dive into this exciting field by utilizing available learning materials and further developing soft skills.
“There are plenty of courses, workshops, and learning materials available, as well as many professionals ready to support you on this journey. I’ve noticed that soft skills make a significant difference in the day-to-day workplace. AI has highlighted the value of soft skills. These skills are harder to acquire but essential for professional growth. So, my biggest advice would be not to overlook them—cultivate creativity, empathy, communication, and teamwork, as these are invaluable assets for professional success,” she said.
On Xchange, she touches on topics like how ubiquitous computing is transforming museum experiences, often writing her articles in both English and Spanish. You can find all her articles on her Xchange profile. When asked about her favorite aspect of Xchange, she expressed that it’s the platform’s sense of community and collaboration.
“What I most value about Xchange is the chance to foster a true sense of community—a platform where knowledge, perspectives, interests, and ideas can be exchanged with colleagues from all over the world. The AVIXA team is always eager to assist, support, and guide, embodying a spirit of collaboration, generosity, and inclusivity. It is truly an honor to be part of the AVIXA Xchange advocates,” she said.
