Mountain View, California – January 26, 2026OpenAV Cloud today announced a series of major milestones as the initiative continues to advance an open, interoperable, cloud-connected AV ecosystem ahead of ISE 2026. Updates include the launch of a dedicated membership tier for system integrators and managed service providers, the publication of the first two chapters of the OpenAV Cloud technical framework, and the addition of new industry members.

OpenAV Cloud was created to address long-standing challenges in the AV industry caused by proprietary systems that limit integration, scalability, and innovation. By developing open, cloud-based frameworks and promoting secure, interoperable data access across brands, the initiative enables manufacturers, integrators, and end users to collaborate more effectively while preserving flexibility and differentiation.

Recognizing the vital role of integrators, OpenAV Cloud has introduced a new membership tier for system integrators and managed service providers, named Industry Supporters. This free tier is designed to formally include integrators in the initiative, recognizing their essential role in deploying, operating, and scaling cloud-connected AV solutions as well as in driving customer demand for open and interoperable systems. Recent joiners of the new tier include Wesco, ESCO, Programmed, Link Integration Group, ProAV Solutions, Tritech, Roche AV Pro, Ultimate Technologies Group, The AVSG, DBE Systems, Imagine, Astrato Technologies, Bravo, and Coltrane.

“The addition of an Industry Supporter tier acknowledges the critical role integrators play in shaping how AV solutions are delivered in the real world,” said Petro Shimonishi, Director of New Business Development at Panasonic Projector & Display, “OpenAV Cloud is creating a space where those perspectives directly influence the industry’s direction.”

OpenAV Cloud also announced the release of the first two chapters of its technical framework, available for industry review and remarks through the OpenAV Cloud Discord channel. These initial chapters provide guidelines for AV device security and baseline functionality, and serve as the foundation for creating and sharing open cloud-based APIs across the industry, fostering collaboration and adoption. Additional chapters will be released over time as the framework evolves.

“This is about giving the industry a common starting point,” said Sam Sabet, CTO at Shure. “These first framework chapters are about turning collaboration into something practical that manufacturers and integrators can actually build on. Going forward, our vision is to create a standard that would be embraced by the entire community.”

In addition, OpenAV Cloud welcomes new members to its Contributing Members tier: Barco, Logitech, Netgear, Optoma, Megapixel, NovaStar, Wyrestorm, PepperDash, Signagelive, Allsee, Stage Precision, Interactio, Xten-AV, and Ilumento. These companies join a growing coalition of AV manufacturers, technology providers, and industry stakeholders aligned around the need for open APIs, shared frameworks, and cross-platform collaboration to accelerate the industry’s transition to the cloud.

Members of OpenAV Cloud commit to advancing an open and collaborative AV ecosystem by:
• Promoting interoperable, cloud-connected AV solutions
• Building and supporting open, read-write cloud APIs
• Collaborating on shared frameworks, best practices, and industry guidance
• Upholding secure, customer-controlled access to data
• Encouraging inclusive, cross-brand participation across the AV value chain

The initiative continues to build an active industry community and invites AV manufacturers, system integrators, managed service providers, consultants, and end users to participate. Updates, resources, and ongoing progress are shared through OpenAV Cloud’s website and social channels (Linkedin, Discord).
