When terminating a category cable with an 8P8C (RJ-45) connector, it is best practice to untwist each wire pair:

a. As little as possible to get each wire to enter the proper channel in the connector
b. So that the jacket and shield remain uncrimped
c. As far as possible
d. It doesn’t matter; the twists are there to simplify manufacturing
