Have you ever celebrated International Men’s Day?
Did you know it’s on November 19th every year and has been since 1991!

To celebrate International Men’s Day 2023, the AVIXA Women’s Council UK invites you to join us for a lunchtime panel discussion on Tuesday November 14th!

Societal pressures on men generally haven’t changed much in decades – but yet we require our men folk to not only conform to those pressures but to also be exceptional allies! You’ve probably all heard someone say how less likely men are to speak about their feelings and with suicide rates amongst men at a ridiculously high level (averaging c.14 every day in England & Wales alone), it’s definitely time we joined in the campaign to #BreakTheStigma!

We can only challenge those societal stigmas through airing concerns, talking, and questioning if there is a place for such views in 2023? Changing the rhetoric and providing safe, supportive environments for men is as important as it is for all humans, and essential if we want to create a more harmonious, inclusive society!

Join our panel for a thought-provoking discussion based around this year’s theme for International Men’s Day - #ZeroSuicideSociety. We will be discussing ways in which we can all:

  • Promote male wellbeing, and make a positive difference to the lives of men
  • Raise awareness of the charities and groups that are already doing great work in supporting men’s wellbeing
  • Have positive conversations about men, and the stereotypes that no longer define any of us!
  • Develop strategies for our work places to be more proactive in reaching in, spotting the signs, and signposting.

Meet the panel:

  • Stephan Davies, MHFA & Head of IT, Nuvias UC
  • Matthew De Gannes, Head of Permanent Recruitment, Jacobs Massey
  • Russell Harpham, European Development Director, SCT
  • Dan Rowe, Project Development Champion, Andy’s Man Club
  • Hosted by Iffat Chaudhry representing the AVIXA Women’s Council UK
