I have been working in the events industry for over 30 years, starting in the Project Arts Centre in 1992, a breeding ground for so many people in the arts since its inception in 1967. Moving out on my own in 1993 I worked as a freelance technician in both the theatrical and corporate areas, before joining Tony Murphy at AVCOM in 1995, where I found a home for nearly 28 years, working across the technical, sales, and production teams, honing my live event experience. My full time role involved leadership, management, and accountability, for both the sales and production teams, while still maintaining relationships across a number of key accounts. I have always believed, and still maintain, that developing long term relationships, both internally and externally, with clients, team members, and suppliers; is important to ensure the right team is formed for each project, when you know the people you can ensure the right blend for every event. Collaborating with a cross functional team is always, not only a great experience, but fun, you learn so much for working with different people on different projects. I work to bring people together, creating a collaborative team, ensuring a smooth production every time.
