ITS Subcommittee Meeting Minutes

Date: February 11, 2026

Lead: Drew (Acting)  Elizebeth was not feeling well.

1. Leadership Update

  • Anthony confirmed as new ITS Subcommittee Lead, effective March (replacing Elizabeth).
  • Focus moving forward: increasing attendance, outreach, and community engagement.

2. Membership Growth & Outreach

  • ITS Matrix submissions increased from approximately ~10 to approximately ~20 members.
  • Five new ITS members joined since last meeting.
  • Plan to send reminder emails and increase personal outreach for meetings.
  • Leverage LinkedIn for recruitment and visibility.
  • Use AI tools to improve engagement content.

3. Spotlight Member & Question of the Month

  • Agreed to implement a consistent Spotlight Member template.
  • Focus on storytelling and value, not promotion.
  • Bryan Sarmiento will be the next Spotlight Member and present the Question of the Month.
  • Greg to draft a multiple-choice question on integrator service diversification (AV, security, IT, broadcast).

4. Market Intelligence Topic

  • Discussion on diversification trends including growth of Electronic Security Systems within AV firms.
  • Blending of AV, IT, and security disciplines noted as an emerging trend.
  • Plan to poll the ITS community on service diversification.
  • Explore using AVIXA market intelligence data to support findings.

5. Education & Charitable Initiative

  • Strong support for combining education and charity initiatives.
  • Suggested partnerships include The Loop Lab and High School for the Recording Arts.
  • Agreed this initiative should expand beyond ITS to the broader SI Council.

6. InfoComm 2026 Content

  • Exploring podcast, panel, or forum format at InfoComm 2026.
  • Proposed theme: Integrator 'War Stories' with Lessons Learned.
  • Emphasis on value-driven, engaging storytelling.
  • Jen coordinating with digital content team.

7. AI Industry Update

  • Nathan Kinney offered a 10–15 minute presentation on the application of AI in the industry.
  • To be scheduled for a future meeting.
