Orlando’s Hall Upgrade

Unione Confcommercio Milano, one of Italy's largest business associations, wanted to upgrade its 490-seat conference room, Orlando’s Hall, from analog to digital. Unione appointed Mr. Edoardo Nogara, CEO of Save Technology, to find a solution that meets the needs of a modern-day conference room.

Requirements

The client required support for various inputs, including VGA, HDMI, and HDBaseT, with the possibility to de-embed audio. They also needed to interoperate with different equipment from a variety of manufacturers, including projectors and displays. Lastly, they required reliable and quality transmission over long distances to ensure that presentations are smooth and engaging.

The ATEN & HDBaseT Solution

With the support of Agenzia Curreri, they discovered ATEN’s 16 x 16 Modular Matrix Switch was the perfect match for this installation. The VM1600A’s large amount of input and output ports, ability to use multiple interfaces, and Seamless Switch™ technology, makes it not only flexible but also a future-proof solution for this 562m2 space. In addition to VM1600A, the installation included the following ATEN products featuring HDBaseT technology:

The HDMI HDBaseT Transmitter with Local Output (4K@100m) (HDBaseT Class A) (VE814AT) was one of four HDBaseT products selected for this installation. The ATEN VE814AT is an HDBaseT Video Transmitter that is capable of sending HDMI signals up to 100 meters over a single Cat 5e/6/6a or ATEN 2L-2910 Cat 6 cable.

ATEN’s HDBaseT-certified products assure reliable transmission of AV, Ethernet, power, USB, and control signals over a single Cat 5e/6A cable up to 100m. The solution is compatible with many commonly used interfaces, ensuring the integration of the existing analog setup into the new digital distribution system. What's more, ATEN's exclusive Seamless Switch technology ensures smooth transitions when switching sources and close-to-zero second switching for continuous, engaging video streams.

"The interoperability of ATEN products made the installation of the total solution really convenient for us, while taking into account future expansion," said Edoardo Nogara, CEO of Save Technology.
